"Fuse" was a popular Soviet/Russian satirical/comedy newsreel magazine series shown in cinemas before the start of the main feature. A new issue appeared monthly from from 1962 to 2008 totaling 608 in all. Each short issue contained three segments: a documentary, a fictional, and an animated, directed by different artists. Each of the miniatures exposed the shortcomings of Soviet or Russian life: bureaucrats, careerists, bribe-takers, bourgeoisie, and scammers, managing to turn serious problems into funny ones. Sometimes humorously called "the anecdotes from the Soviet government" in the USSR. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called 'Fitilyok', "Little Fuse".
