When she learns that her mother has terminal cancer, Joanna, a journalist, devotes all her energy to trying to save her. At the hospital, she meets Lukasz, a chaplain. The relationship that unites them little by little is broken the day when, at Lukasz's request, the blood transfusion that was intended for Joanna's mother is passed on to another patient. After her mother's death, Joanna changes her life, as Lukasz desperately tries to find her.
