Radioactivists: Protest in Japan Since Fukushima ratings (Movie, 2011)

Since the catastrophe on March 11th 2011, Japan is experiencing sociopolitical tremors of historical significance. The political interest is growing and protest is forming, although street demonstrations have been a rare sight. There have been no major demonstrations since the 1970s. That's why it's surprising, that in April, an anti-nuclear-demonstration gathered more than 10,000 protesters in Koenji, Tokyo. This should be the first big demonstration in decades, with more to follow. The documentary 'Radioactivists' explores Japanese protest culture under the effects of Fukushima and illuminates the backgrounds of the current movements and critical voices, which keep getting louder everywhere.
