The Scum ratings (Movie, 1963)

In the hard and merciless world of Troumba, the flamboyant and kind-hearted Magda--also known as the Marquise--falls head over heels for the charming mariner, Manos Apostolidis. As Manos is, seemingly, the ideal husband for her, Magda decides to marry him with dreams of a better future--and, without delay--she bids farewell to the dreadful industrial slums and her former colleagues in the cabaret where she used to dance and sing. However, the frail fantasy of a fresh start is bound to shatter after a malign twist of fate--and as a result--a powerless and utterly defeated Magda will inevitably succumb under the heavy burden of a terrible revelation. Is there any hope left for the harbour's once-jubilant Marquise?
