Pilar Beltrán is a forty-something teacher who lives in Madrid (Spain's capital) with her authoritarian mother Mercedes and her twenty-something free-spirit daughter, Elvira. After the suicide of a student of her own class, Pilar moves Oviedo (Principality of Asturias' capital, north to Spain), after to accept an offer in the Santullano High School. Meanwhile Elvira tries to find her place in the world as top model, Pilar meets Jandro, Santullano's principal, a man who tries to balance his chaotic life between his part-time relationship with Ana, one of the teachers, with his work leading the high school.
